The governance function had always been seen as reliable, supportive and competent - ensuring that policies were up to date, filings completed and board papers delivered on time.
Over time, stakeholders started to blame ‘governance’ for flagging issues at the last minute, acting as a procedural bottleneck for signing things off when needed. Team morale was at an all-time low.

We designed a team day which focussed on stakeholder perceptions and quality of relationships. Together, the team took a step back to re-position their purpose and rebuild the team brand without compromising integrity or focus. The team identified several ways of enhancing the quality of stakeholder relationships and left the team day feeling energised and clear around what needed to change and how best to achieve it.
